Reusable packaging evidence

PPWR generally applies from 12 August 2026

Where packaging is presented as reusable, record design, reconditioning, refill/reload and rotation evidence plus the operational system that supports reuse.

Harmonised material-composition label roadmap

From 12 August 2028 or 24 months after the relevant implementing act, whichever is later

Map which packaging will require the harmonised sorting/material label and keep artwork/data systems ready for the final implementing specifications.

Reusable-packaging label roadmap

Timing depends on the Article 12 implementing act

For reusable packaging, record the data and artwork changes needed for the harmonised label and any required digital carrier once specifications apply.

Review before making packaging-related environmental claims

For each environmental claim about a PPWR-regulated packaging property, record the factual basis, the packaging scope of the claim and supporting technical documentation.
